Electrical Engineering Graduate - Designer 1 in our Des Moines
IAoffice. As an Electrical Engineering Graduate - Designer 1, you
will work closely with a team of experiencedengineers and
consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients
to ensure positiveoutcomes. Primary responsibilities will include
assisting in engineering analysis, design, andimplementation
oversight of electrical systems in buildings. This position will be
expected to workwithin the project's monetary budget as well as
collaborate with cross- functional teams to meetproject goals and
client expectations.Principal Responsibilities* Assist in the
design and analysis of electrical systems, utilizing engineering
software andtools to create detailed designs, specifications, and
calculations according to code requirementsand IMEG standards*
Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project
requirements, and communicatetechnical information effectively.
Build and maintain client relationships through
professionalcommunication* Work as part of a project team to
support the execution of consulting projects. Assist inproject
planning and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and
objectives* Assist with documenting design decisions and
instructions from clients while monitoring projectdesign progress*
Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and propose
innovative solutions. Collaboratewith senior engineers and
consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions*
Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure that
engineering designs and solutionsmeet IMEG quality standards,
industry standards and client requirements* Stay up to date with
industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in
electricalengineering. Contribute to research, development, and
innovation efforts within IMEG* Prioritize safety in all aspects of
engineering work. Identify and mitigate potential safetyrisks
associated with electrical systems* Collaborate with
multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects,
andproject managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet
project goalsRequired Skills/Abilities* Knowledge of design
techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of
technicalplans and specifications* Strong technical and analytical
skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuittheory,
electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to
electrical systemsdesign for buildings* Knowledge of industry
standard engineering software and tools, including lighting
photometriccalculation software such as AGI, Elum Tools, Visual
Lighting, or other; energy compliance softwaresuch as ComCheck; and
familiar use of Adobe or Bluebeam Revu* Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both
oraland written communication to individuals or groups* Ability to
work collaboratively in a team environment* Attention to detail and
problem-solving skills* Eagerness to learn and adapt to new
challenges* Basic knowledge in the use of Building Information
Modeling (BIM) software* Proficient with MS Office Suite including
but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook* Ability to travel up
to 5% with occasional overnight staysEducation and Experience*
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or
equivalent required* Prior internship experience in the building
design consulting industry preferred* Engineering in Training (EIT)
