Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team in Des Moines, IA, to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles.

Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
  
• Perform standard vehicle maintenance
  
• Perform standard component inspections and repairs
  
• Perform preventive maintenance
  
• Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems
  
• Identify root cause of failures and perform repairs
  
• Replace defective components
  
• Perform facility maintenance duties
  
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint
  
• Utilize key functions of Shop Management System
  
• Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines
  
  
  Requirements:
  
  • 
    
  • High school diploma or equivalent
    
  • Vocational or technical certification preferred
    
  • Basic tools required
    
  • Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
    
  • Two years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience
    
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
